When apostille is not the route
The Hague Apostille Convention replaces traditional legalisation only where the Convention applies between the document's country of origin and the destination.
Outside that route, a Portuguese document can require a different chain involving Portuguese authentication, a foreign diplomatic mission, or another destination-specific step.

Where the final embassy step sits outside Portugal or must be completed through a specific mission, we give you the exact remaining handoff instead of selling a fictional universal service.

Civil certificates, criminal records, academic documents, company documents, powers of attorney and court documents are common international legalisation files.
The document type matters because the source signature or issuing body can require a Portuguese authentication step before the diplomatic stage.
Translation and courier
We add certified translation and international delivery to the same case.
