The Portuguese equivalent is a document set
Portugal does not issue a standard Commercial Registry certificate under the exact English title "Certificate of Incumbency".
The functional evidence comes from current commercial registry entries showing the company's management and representation, supported by statutes or appointment documents when the file asks for them.
Current registry evidence
We obtain the current Certidão Permanente and identify the management and representation entries relevant to the foreign request.
If the recipient needs the corporate act behind the appointment, we add the registry + documents certificate.
Articles of association
The statutes explain how the company is represented and how corporate authority is structured.
For legal opinions, banking and transactions, the combination of current registry evidence and statutes is a strong Portuguese answer to many incumbency requests.
Beneficial ownership is separate
Incumbency and beneficial ownership answer different questions.
If the foreign KYC file also asks who ultimately controls the company, we add RCBE evidence as a separate part of the package.
