Good standing can mean several things: proof that the company is registered and active, proof of current directors, proof of tax compliance, proof of no criminal record, or a combination.
That is why sending a random Certidão Permanente without reading the request can leave the file incomplete.
Commercial registry status
The current Certidão Permanente de Registo Comercial is the normal starting point for the company's legal registration and current commercial record.
FCPC adds central entity identification and status data.
Tax and criminal compliance
If the foreign institution means "no outstanding tax debt", Portugal has a separate tax debt certificate.
If it means corporate criminal record, Portugal issues a separate criminal record certificate for legal persons. Portugal Papers handles both.
Directors and ownership
If good standing also means current management or ownership, add commercial registry evidence, statutes and RCBE beneficial ownership evidence.
