What the card identifies
The Company or Legal Entity Card is an official Portuguese identification record for companies and other legal entities.
It brings together core identifiers such as NIPC, NISS where applicable, company name, registered office, CAE activity codes, legal form and incorporation date.
Electronic and physical formats
Portugal provides the card in electronic and physical formats.
The electronic card updates with the entity data. The physical card remains valid until the information printed on it changes.
When it is useful
The card is used for company identification in administrative, banking, contractual and institutional processes.
Foreign teams sometimes ask for a "company card" without knowing the Portuguese name. We obtain the Portuguese document they mean and pair it with registry evidence where the file needs more detail.
Not a substitute for the registry
The card identifies the entity. A commercial registry certificate gives the deeper legal record, and RCBE gives beneficial ownership evidence.
