Divorces from EU countries
A different EU recognition route can apply and a separate Portuguese Court of Appeal case may not be required. We check this first and use the appropriate route.

DOES MY FORMER SPOUSE NEED TO PARTICIPATE?
Not always
If both former spouses cooperate, the Portuguese recognition case can often be filed jointly.
If the other former spouse does not participate, the process can still be possible. We check the correct procedural route and whether formal service is required.
